d_g Posted March 30, 2005 Share Posted March 30, 2005 i have the oportunity to buy a SCANNER SCITEX EVERSMART PRO, but i wonder if i can use it with a G4 1,25 and Mac Os X ...Is it a good scanner for 6x6 to 4x5 negs ? where can i download new drivers for it ? how much shall i pay for it ?Shall i shop for a second hand imacon instead ? best valu for money model (4x5 neg) ?thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
leo_maniace2 Posted March 30, 2005 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Get an eversmart pro. They cost about $3500 used, you can still get technical support and you will get higher resolution with 4X5 film. andrew_rodney1 Posted March 30, 2005 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Both are great scanners. You might want to run a test on both, see how the Scitex handles film without gel mounting. Software support might be a cost issue (Scitex knows how to charge). Personally, I love my Imacon 848 but I've been impressed with the Scitex as well.
