Help with pics in Photoshop CS

Recommended Posts

I have a question that may be fairly simple. I took 380 photos at a

dance recital for a friend. The pics are from my D70 (fine

resolution) and too big for one cd. Since so many people wanted cds,

how can I change the resolution so the pics can fit on one cd? Is

there a faster way than opening each picture and resizing?

Thanks!

Derek

Just create an action on one file in PSCS then in the file browser run the action from Automate>Batch on the folder with the 380 photos. You may need to separate the landscapes from the portrait into two files. If you are not familiar with Actions or Automat Batch check the help files.

Just write an action. Or you can use a script.

For Actions, go to the Actions palette and click on the icon for new Actions. Photoshop will then record what you do. Do what you want to one image. Save the Action. Then go File>batch and run the action on all the images.

If you have a mixture of landscape and portrait orientations, then you can use the Photoshop option File->Automate->Fit Image to resize so that the long dimension is a particular size. Alternatively, it would be easier to just use the excellent free IrfanView uitility, which offers a ready made batch resizing option.
