eric merrill
Chris: In my mind, delaying clipping and desaturation is a Good Thing. The more bits I have to work with, the more adjustments I can make while maintaining maximum image quality. So I'm not sure doing the post-processing work in the destination color space makes sense. Otherwise, might as well capture and do everything in sRGB. But again...I'm by no means an expert. Eric
chris_leck
Just a thanks to Eugene Scherba for his contribution to this thread and others. His knowledge and patience set him apart. As a somewhat serious student of this stuff (though probably in second grade or so and not destined to become a color scientist), I think that we are fortunate to have his contributions. In my first encounter with Eugene, I perhaps was a bit antagonisitic. Maybe that was because Eugene is precise and I'm less knowledgeable (e.g., D65 does not equal 6500K -- Eugene can explain the difference and I'd been slopping them together). Anyhow, thanks Eugene.
