nick_breedlove1
Hey all, Just got the 10-22 lens and put it on my 20D and at first it wouldnt focus, check and it was in AF mode, then my camera turned off, so I flipped the switch from off to on, all my settings were reset, and I tried to use the lens again and get Err 99. Any ideas?
daniel_taylor
This probably isn't it, but just to be sure... Make sure you have the latest firmware loaded. I was getting constant Err99's with my 10D and a new Lexar 40x card until I loaded the latest firmware, even though the firmware notes mentioned nothing about addressing CF card issues. Now everything is fine.
digitmstr
When you put the lens on was the camera OFF or ON? I have heard of some people having issues when changing lenses while the camera is turned ON.
nick_breedlove1
So I updated firmware to 2.0.0 and now instead of ERR 99 I get ERR 01 which means lens communication?!?!?!
nick_breedlove1
The camera was off when I put the lens on.
jimstrutz
If you're getting ERR 01 you either have a defective lens, a defective camera or dirty lens to body contacts. Try taking the lens off and cleaning the contacts on the lens and on the body with an eraser. Be sure to not get any eraser dust in the camera or lens. If this doesn't do it, my guess is you have a bad lens.
