FD Lens->LTM adapter ?

Is there such an animal, and if so, anywhere cheap where i can find or

buy one? I have looked on fleebay, but no luck. I see 2 posts

previously referring to the auction site regarding this.

Is there anything special to know going this route other than the lack

of rangefinder coupling and the need to zone focus? I was wanting to

buy a canon wide angle.

If anyone has one they would like to sell, i'd be most appreciative.

thanks.

There is such an animal. I have one that I use w/a Vivitar 28/2.5 in FD mount. I got the adapter for a good price on ebay, and got the lens just as an excuse to use the damn thing. I don't have it w/me, so I can't give you its exact name of the adapter - it's something like "Canon Adapter-B"- maybe Al K. or Mark W. can.

The adapter Type B actually goes back to the days of the original Canonflex but still worked with FD lenses. The first 19mm f/3.5 Canon for the Canonflex was not a retrofocus and required mirror lock-up. The lens was also available in rangefinder coupled LTM for Canon rangefinder bodies. When Canon introduced a 19/3.5 retrofocus my local dealer offered me a brand new older model complete with finder, case Lens Mount Converter B and a Leica M adapter for $100 back about 1967. I grabbed it! It was a pretty damned good lens and I used it until my M4 was stolen along with the 19 perhaps a dozen years later .
