f_beal
Further to my shutter issues... I've dismantled the LX but can't seem to find a way of removing the top plate - the control knobs don't want to shift and I'm worried about levering them. Anyone tell me how to pull them off safely or remove the top plate without? Thanks...

f_beal
Yes, checked all them. Unfortunately the LX top plate and controls are different from a C, so it's no help.
donald_ingram1
If you have not found out so already, the controls are attached via a screw underneath the scale - which is screen printer on a foil. How do I know ? - I gave in to temptation and got a $600 TLX from MPL ( it arrived today ). But I immediately noticed the shutter speed dial was loose. Turning it clockwise made it tighter - and turning it counter clockwise revealed the screw in the center of the dial. I guess the camera must go back - without even a film through it.
