df-gallery
Thanks for that, very interesting indeed. Very helpful as well. Did you test past f/8.0? May I also ask if there was any post processing, did you shoot RAW (if so, which converter, and what settings)? Thanks.
edward_h
> Did you test past f/8.0? Nope. > May I also ask if there was any post processing, Auto-stretch contrast to get the whites white and blacks black. Other than that nothing, standard camera settings. david8
One of my favorite lenses - If only it was USM. david

chiswick_john
I don't want to sound pedantic ( but it will sound like that - sorry)but most of my lenses start to degrade in sharpness beyond F8 to a greater or lesser degree due to diffraction - it would be good to see how this lens performs at F11/16. Most of my lenses are very sharp in the center (most lenses are) what seperates the wheat from the chaff is the edge performance - maybe you could do another test to show this. My 24mm 2.8 is a very good performer at close distances but gets worse with distance - I've never been a fan of newspaper spread lens tests for the very reason that most lenses designed for general photographic work are not optimised for close flat field copy work. I used to own a 35mm F2 ( which I came by very cheaply) but it was very soft down one edge so I 'fixed' it with a hammer - permenantly. It was too expensive to repair and I felt guilty about selling it on.
yakim_peled1
>> One of my favorite lenses - If only it was USM. Agree and add - If only it had IF in addition to USM..... :-( Happy shooting, Yakim.
