Ok I went ahead and got this 60 CT-1. It has charger and cords but obviously needs a

new dry fit battery which I will get from Adorama or B&H. My question now is .. is there

anything else I probably need for it that I don't know about. Like do the synch cords die

frequently? Or something else.

Congratulations ... great price for a powerful unit. If everything is as described, you don't need anything else. Extra sync cords are always a good idea though.

Yes, more than one battery and more than one synch cord. I have also had one Metz power cord fail in many years so would say that is less important.

 

There are places that re-cell at least some Metz batteries for less than the cost of a new one, if you have the old case.

Batteries for me lasted at 250 shots. So get 2 batteries. Get a few PC cords and you are all set!

I agree with what others have stated: backups of everything-battery, power cord and pc cord. I shoot weddings and regularly go through 2 batteries per day. I've never had the power or pc cord fail but I always have extras on hand.
