berg_na
Provided you haven't saved any new images onto the card, you should be able to restore all of the deleted files. Lexar actually ships their cards with <a href="http://lexar.com/drivers/index.html" target="right">a utility called 'Image Rescue'</a> for this exact function. Good luck! ralph_wilson
Berg is right. Hold off on using the card until you can get a copy of Image Rescue. You'll be surprised how many old images are left on the card, even after formatting.
david_h._hartman
There is a program called SanDisk RescuePRO thats packaged with the Sandisk 1 GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card. The B&H photo price is $109.95. As others have said do not use that card! Get software and I believe you can recover those files. Check other manufactures high end compact flash cards for similar software products.<br> <br> Good luck,<br> <br> Dave Hartman.
johnmarkpainter
At least you won't do it again :) Kind of like opening the back of a camera without rewinding the Film....forgetting to remove the Darkslide on a Large Format camera...shooting with the Lenscap on with a Rangefinder Camera...."Shooting" a roll of Film that was never properly loaded...setting the wrong Film speed on a Meter....Loading Film backwards in a Hasselblad... (guess how many of these I have done!) jmp
tim_sewell
I have used PCI File Inspector with success, even after I had reformatted a CF card. It remains in my list of "must have" software. You can download it (genuinely free) from http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm (Fortunately when I had done a similar STUPID thing after returning from a family holiday, I had also copied the entire contents of that CF card on CDrom to my son, but then forgotten all about that. I was flagellating myself when I got a very welcome email from him!)
