manoj
I am unable to upload photographs and the error message I get is : "Server ErrorThe requested URL cannot be accessed due to a system error on this server. AOLserver/4.0 on http://www.photo.net". Can anybody tell me why this would happen and how to fix this issue?

bobatkins
I just uploaded an image. No problems at all, so either it's fixed or it's not a local photo.net issue.
aphanius
Not fixed yet. I've just tried uploading right now and this error message appeared: "Server Error The requested URL cannot be accessed due to a system error on this server. AOLserver/4.0 on http://www.photo.net"
paula grenside
I have had the same problem and got the same message a few times and recently, too, but retrying immediately after, once, twice, it suddenly uploads.
James Kazan
Since last evening I'm also having the same problem. I even turned off my DSL modem for about a half hour so I could get a different IP address. I was thinking perhaps my IP was being blocked but that was no help. bobatkins
Just uploaded another one. Absolutely no problems. All I did was select the image and enter a caption. I didn't do anything else. I also tried it without entering a caption. Again, absolutely no problems at all. I'm running Windows XP (home) and uploading from IE 6 via a DSL connection. aeiffel
Bob,<br> Even hitting the "add photo" link leads to an error message. Yesterday only the upload process failed. Tried on *nix/windows/apple platforms with various browsers : same results.
aphanius
Bob, error message appears before displaying any uploading window, so no chance to put a caption or select any image for uploading. The bug (if any) is in http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo-add.
bobatkins
Not from here it's not. The page loads fine and uploads an image without any problems. I just tried it again and it's fine. That's 4 uploads in a row with no problems, so it's not likely that I'm just lucky! I can't dig into the system like Brian can, so I can't look at logs and see what's going on. All I can say is that everything here looks perfectly normal. The page loads fine and the images upload fine.
abintraphoto
All a sad hoax Bob - just to get you to upload stuff ............ (-; Nice shot btw ... !
mottershead
The problem only affected non-subscribers. I've put in a work around that gives everybody a quota of 25 photos for now. The old system in which gallery quota was based on participation, such as critique requests, ratings received, etc, was corrupted somehow in the database. abintraphoto
Thanks Brian - for checking the logs ............. (-;
andreas d.
The quota for non subscribers used to be 100 photos and i assume this decreased today to 25 photos. What it will happen to the over quota pictures in the galleries? Is the quota going to change to original 100 photos again ?Is it a way to subscribe without using PayPal for the countries that PayPal is not supported? mottershead
Nothing will happen. Photos are never deleted automatically. It is just a temporary workaround until I get the real data in the database again.

bartbies
I hope so ,that it's temporarity because PN it's one of the best photogaleries with all PN systems. I remember i could upload 100 photos ,some times later this limit was larger. It's was pitty if i must deleted my photos in future in order to upload a new photos. Regards BB , (sorry for my english)
manoj
Brian : Thanks for increasing the quota and letting us upload photos. As for country of residence, I am from Singapore. I hope it helps you narrow down the cause of the problem.
manoj
The error message is still there, this time when you hit the "add this photo" button. But when I go back and try once or twice, I am able to upload the photograph.
