tjavery
Does anyone know what lens hoods will fit the now discontinued Canon EF 70-210mm 3.5-4.5 lens? I Googled this and found "ET-65 II" as a match. However, this hood is no longer sold (discontinued, I guess). Will the ET-65 III hood fit? This hood will fit the 100-300mm zoom, but I cannot find any info about it fitting the 70-210mm as well. thanks,TJ
wgpinc
Yes the 'ET-65 III' fits the Canon EF 70-210mm 3.5-4.5 lens. Same hood is listed for the 85 1.8, 100 2.0, 135 2.8 and the 100-300 4.5 - 5.6. Lists '$23.95 usd at B&H. I had one on my 70-210 and still have one each on the 85 and 100. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=details_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=162046&is=REG Good luck. steve_dunn2
The Roman numerals are irrelevant when it comes to which lenses it will fit; an ET-65 and an ET-65 II and an ET-65 III will all fit the same lenses. The differences are typically due to leaving more room inside so you can turn a circular polarizer (not likely with this hood, as it's quite deep), allowing a bit more room on the mount so it will fit over a circular polarizer's knurled ring (I think the hood for the 28-105 was changed for this many years ago), or adding dark flocking/felt to the inside of the hood to reduce reflections.
PuppyDigs
The only diff between the ET 65 II and III is the III has flocking. The II sports flat black paint. Rayon flocking is slightly less reflective and therefore better. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
