The gate on the back of my 503CW isn't closing

Hello,

 

My 503CW has a problem where the bottom flap of the rear body gate doesn't close completely until re cocked. This doesnt seem to affect operation in any way but it is a bother and i suppose it best be repaired.

Does anyone know what the cause of this may be and if the repair is complex and thus expensive?

 

Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with one of the gates not closing after the body was cycled. The

original quote included the replacement of a spring, but only an adjustment was required

in my case, and the repair only included labor. I had used the NYC authorized service

center. I do not remember the total, but it was reasonable, if I recall correctly.

 

My 503CW had taken a spill from 3' and the shutter fired and jammed. I was able to unjam

the shutter, but ended up with the gate issue upon testing the body by itself.

I got the same problem with a 500 CM, entirely my fault. I sent it to Hasselblad Sweden. I got it back after 3 weeks and the cost, including shipment, was 300 USD.
