charlesp
After much consideration, I've ordered a Nikon 9000 scanner. From what I've read here, the 869G glass film holder is much recommended. But I wonder if anyone can compare the results from the much less expensive 869M slide holder.
cristian_baitg
Go for the G . If you spent so much money for the 9000 don't cut the quality because some hundred bug....it really makes a big difference to get the glass holder. Without it you will never know how good 9000 really is Best regards Cristian
charlesp
Cristian, Have you personally tried the 869M holder and compared it to the G holder? Thanks.
p_l_jensen
I wonder about this too. Firstly, I've tried to get hold of a 869G for 6 months now with no luck. It is unavailable world-wide. Secondly, the 869M is significantly cheaper and available. Both should do the same job as they solve the flatness problem. All you need to do before scanning with the 869M is putting the slide in a glass frame. Thats the theory at least. Has anyone experience with this?
