david_carter
Earlier this year I bought a stereo Galileo camera. I need help in precisly identifying which model it is. Assuming that it isn't a custom made camera. It was reputably owned by Bruce De Palma of http://depalma.pair.com/BEDeP.html . You should be able to see it @ http://www.photo.net/photo/3280047 For the record it still takes good photos, however the shutter speeds are slower than desirable. vivek iyer
David, You gave the wrong link (broken enlarger). Your camera found in your single photos folder looks fantastic! Sorry, I can't help you with it. Virtually unknown. I have only seen the stereo prism attachment/viewer made for Gami 16. Please do post some pictures taken with it. I am curious about the vertical positioning of the stereo lens pair. What kind of film does your camera take?
mdanger
Yes, it's an interesting camera. I'd also be interested in seeing results of this Galileo camera and more photos of the camera itself (back, inside, top.)
david_carter
A photo of the inside is there now. The negatives look like 1/2 frame.
vivek iyer
Thanks for that. But it gets even more confusing. In the second shot, the lenses look to be in the right place and are at a different orientation than the first photo. Is the lens assembly with the shutter/diaphram dials rotatable? This is looking more like a Galileo humbug...
david_carter
Sorry I forgot to mention that the lenses are at right-angles to the film.
david_carter
PS it takes standard 35mm film
vivek iyer
I still can't understand how that works? If the lenses are at right angle (from the front) to the film and still appear horizontal at the rear. The film chamber area of your camera appears to be in need of a CLA. Hope, nothing scratches the film during transport. Are lenses fixed in focus? Is it macro capable? In any event, truly a very rare find!
david_carter
it can be focused through what would be considered a normal range. It does not look macro capable. I suspect that light is bent through prisms to expose the film.
