pete_gregar1
The 500C series cameras seem to be a bit cheaper in the used market.so I picked one up.... I see that the 500CM allows focus screens to be changed by the user.Which I will probably only do once. Since I plan on having this 500C cleaned and checked out, I thought I would just upgrade the focus screen. I see there is a brighter screen that can replace the stock screen accute-matte? But there are also 3rd party screens... Any thoughts or suggestions. If the price of the screen does not matter, since it will be a one time deal. I plan on using 50mm/4.0 80mm/2.8 and 150mm/4.0 With the waistlevel finder.
bas1
Some of the later 500c allow the user to change the screen as well. You can see two small sliding thingies on the sides that you can move out of the way to pop out the screen. The old standard screens are very dim. I have an new accute matte in mine. Makes a big difference. Screens can be pricey though.
johnmarkpainter
Pete, I am personally a big fan of the Maxwell "Hi-Lux" screen. The Beattie Intenscreen is good as well, but I prefer the Maxwell. jmp

Aoresteen
Pete, I just sent my 500C to Ross to have a Maxwell screen installed. I have not compared the Accue Matt to a Maxwell. Maxwell made a custom screen for my Rollei 4x4 that is just dynomite! Thus I decided on a Maxwell screen for my 500C. Bill Maxwell makes good screens. Google Maxwell screens and give Bill a call. He talks for a long time so be prepared!
