Half-case CF57 for F100 - front removable?

Must be my eyes... is the front of a CF57 removable, so you only have the body

protected, like the half-cases of old?

Some online images I have seen make it look like the front is sewn onto the

bottom section at the side of the case.... tell me that ain't so?

I cant find a photo that leads me to believe this but

thats the way these cases normally work so Id think

there is a simple snap that allow removal of the lens and prism

cover.

The only way Ive ever used a never ready case

is with the 1/4-20 screw in the bottom removed so when I actually

use the camera I remove the complete case.
You asked me to say this so I will, the front is not sewn onto

the bottom. OK, so what if it is? Take a sharp pair of small

sewing scissors and pull out the stitching. You might call Nikon

USA (or whatever country). The wont know but they will give

you an answer ;)
PS: I know this post is useless but sometime once there is a

reply someone with real knowledge answer. They may be looking

only for threads with new answers, just a guess.

Did you see this image on ebay? The one on the Henry's auction (Item 280018192673 )?

That is a really different looking case, and it does indeed look as though you are stuck with the exceptionally bad 'aerodynamics' when in use.

I can only surmise that the case designers thought the F100 grip profile was either 'ideal' or 'pretty damn big already', and couldn't fathom wrapping another layer of leather and padding around it.
