morthcam
Can a seller possibly know less about cameras than this guy?

mtk
Must get the Foldex 20 for free?????
Mike Gammill
Sounds like the seller used the S2 box with the Foldex?? What really is amusing, though, is the auctions for cheap fixed focus 35mm cameras that look expensive at first glance, but are really no-name plastic disasters. And people actually buy them! Caveat emptor.
silent1
Hey, a Foldex 20 is worth $10, and you're getting a manual and lens cap for the Auto-S2 at no extra charge. Why aren't you bidding? Who, me? I'm broke...
gene m
I like the dirt covered rag.
michael s.
These older 'camers' all look alike, don't they ? Hexagons, for example -- you see one, you've seen 'em all.
michael s.
What're my odds the opening bid comes from my pal Dan Iggers ?
jay_capodiferro
You would have thought that the picture on the front of the manual would have given him a clue. Not to mention the lens cap that doesn't fit.
david_f._stein
But the camera is mint, almost never used. And the box is excellent. Better check the other listings, may be a Leica M3 lurking as a Holga!
daniel_iggers
Hmm. If I toss the old folder, I can pack an Auto S2 that I have somewhere, in the box, and list that. Then I'll sell the cap separately. Oh, oh, I know: Don't toss the folder. Sell the old folder as a "retro Diana". Actually, I sent the seller an email this morning, pointing out his error. On the bidding side, I'm pleased to report that my bids outstanding are in freefall, down from over a hundred to the thirties, with half a dozen leading and maybe one or non likely to win. If this keeps up, people should consider shorting Ebay stock.
marbing
$10 seems about right but I know some people who might spend $10 for a minty original box which can sometimes up the value of a camera you already own. The Konica manual might be worth that much to the right person. Still, I'll give the guy some credit...at least his product shots are CLOSE to being in focus...some of the shots I have seen on "this well-known auction site" are dreadful. To answer your question: Who would know less than this guy? The person who buys it!

conrad_poulin
Well he probubly is not a camera dealer, but an auctioner who came accros this camera and box etc. as a set, and just didn't know.
conrad_poulin
Bill, what doe's negt mean? What is it an abreviation for?

morthcam
Conrad, look at the picture on the instruction book. Now look at the camera. How hard is it to see that they don't quite match?
conrad_poulin
Matt: He didn't look at what he selling. He just put it up for sale without looking. I wasn't trying to defend him, just trying to understand his action.
david_m
I've seen plenty of ads like that. The funniest are where the person identifies the camera based on the name on the lens cap.
patric_dahl_n
I'm sure the seller got many emails telling him about his mistake. But did he care?
CosteaM
Folks, I was the only bidder so I won the whole thing. I mean the Foldex-20, Konica box and manual. I don't have a use for the cap but hey for $9.99, can't complain. I also sent e-mails to the seller and got no answer so I called the number listed before I placed my bid. I learned they are specialized in toys so they sell what is the picture even if it doesn't match. I called again after the bid ended and they re-assured me they are shipping the Foldex-20 to me. Not a bad deal after all. Will let you know as soon as I get the camera, I would be happy to post some pictures. Cheers,
