Taking pinhole shots

Yes, use a tripod. Try shots that take advantage of the ultrawide DOF.

 

I'll use a pinhole cap to take test shots of a white wall when looking for dust on my sensor (Nikon D70s). The tiny aperture will make dust show up quite well.

 

My best pinhole camera was a cardboard box that used 8x10 photo paper for a negative. A piece of aluminum foil with a pin prick was used for the lens. A small piece of black electrical tape was used as the shutter.
