unohuu
I recently bought a Minolta X-700 and rec'd this lens along with thecamera...It is a f/3.5-5.3 lens. I do not know much about the Vivitarlenses and wonder if this is a keeper or one I should relegate to theuse once in a while heap when I do not want my primes to get wet ordusty? Any insight greatly appreciated.
rob_murray
Vivitar used to make very good lenses way back, but now they are not very good. Minolta used lenses are really cheap now and they have some very good lenses, buy those instead.
randrew1
I've been using a similar Vivitar lens (28-210mm, f/3.5-5.6) on my Minolta for years. It is not as sharp as my prime lens and the vignetting is obvious on the wide angle end. On the other hand, it is far more convient that carrying multiple lenses while traveling. I have some pictures shot on vacation that I would have missed without it. I carried it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back. The only real answer is to try it and see the results. russ_butner___portland__or
If you want to stay with a "superzoom", go with the Kiron 28-210 f/4-5.6 zoom. It is amazingly goo for a superzoom. Russ
