Dust Cover Vendors?

My Nikon Coolscan5000 came without any kind of dust cover, and the

common variety Fellowes brand (from office depot, staples, etc) only

makes a few sizes, none of which are anywhere near the right size or

shape.

 

While searching the forum, came across an advertiser link to a

provider of custom dustcovers:

Anyone ever used them? Satisfied?

 

A bit pricey ($20 for nylon, $15 for PVC). Right now I am keeping an

ordinary plastic grocery bag over the scanner, but it offends even my

meager aesthetic sensibilities-- makes my work area look like a bag

lady's desk.

I have no experience with them, but i was thinking i might need something like this for a

new Minolta 5400/II. $20 for a 'custom' cover to fit my needs sounds reasonable.

I have a coolscan IV and I use a grocery (sp) bag. Not the best looking but me scanner is kinda of hidden anyways. And it moldes perfectly to it. Until you find that custom cover give it a try.

To cover my Minolta 5400, I fashioned a dust cover from the bottom of a plastic kitchen trash bag. Just cut off the the proper length, place it over the scanner and fix it with a large rubber band. Effective, even if not pretty.
