rich_dutchman1
Just received the connector for my iPod Photo. Yes, even though theD2X is not listed as being supported, it does work for JPEGs. Ihaven't tried RAW yet. I copied 85 Large Fine JPEGs in 20 minutes. I think that's about 20seconds per file, or 60 minutes for 1.35GB. It's definitely a strainon the battery. olivier_reichenbach
" 85 Large Fine JPEGs in 20 minutes " ? Definitely not my cup of tea. I'll look elsewhere if I need a digital wallet.
lex_jenkins
I'm in the market for either a really good but cheap notebook or a portable storage unit that allows direct transfer from media card or camera USB cable. Of all I've read about the iPod appears to be the slowest and least cost effective. But it wasn't really designed for storing images.
scott squire nonfiction
I was afraid this would be the case. This is just a deal breaker for me. I was hoping (against hope) that this solution would be firewire-speed, which would be the only way it'd be useful to me. I hope it'll be solved on the next round, as I'd really like to have an excuse to buy an iPod... sigh.
flowingcolor
I have a video iPod and have the connector and external USB2.0 card reader... the performance is supper slow in part I think because the iPod proccessed the images and makes "a library" from the files which it uses to display the images on its screen.... if there was a way to turn off the processing maybe it would be quicker.
