Sandy Vongries
When I first got the lens I used it on a job - sheet music and possibly record jacket. I found it to be rather soft. Fortunately I had used two cameras the 135 2.8 was fine. Once I got hold of the 180 2.8 the 200 was retired. Recently given to a friend who is getting back into film Nikons. A plug for John White at AI Conversions - a fine fellow to do business with - he did a bunch of lenses for me, quickly and affordably.
Brian1664876441
Good write-up on the 200/4. Nikon | Imaging Products | NIKKOR - The Thousand and One Nights No.48 The Nikkor-Q 200/4 was reformulated early on. "Probably" the change-over occurred when it was called the Nikkor-Q 200/4 rather than the Nikkor-Q 20cm F4. The design of the barrel changed. I have the original, the Nikkor-QC 200/4, and the 200/4 Ai, compact 5 element lens. The latter is superb, the one I typically grab. I'll have to put them on the list to test with the Df.
