randall_pukalo
I just got an e-mail from B&H that Agfa Vista 100 has been discontinued - sad, another film dies. I think 2005 will see many such eliminations. Sad, sad, sad...
andre_noble4
Hasta la Vista!
jason_fitzmaurice
Sigh. For my snapshot photos I used a lot of Vista (100 and 400). I guess go to Walgreens and stock up on their "Studio 35 100" which is Vista. A lot of places seem ot be out in 36 exposure, but have plenty of 24. Maybe it is just the 36 which has been discontinued.
ilkka_nissila
The Agfa color films are very grainy so I think it's natural that they quit making the slow but not fine grained stuff. There is still the premium stuff which is being made for serious photographers.
scott_eaton
Who cares. Gold 100 and Reala are better films. I'll trade Agfa's entire color film line for RG-25.
jason_fitzmaurice
Scott. I fully accept that you don't care. But why ask "who cares?" Obviously some of us do. Better film is subjective. Technically superior is not, but better is.
bill_tuthill
So Vista is 200/400/800 and Optima is 100/200/400?
r.t. dowling
Who can blame them? Vista is marketed to amateurs, and amateurs just aren't buying ISO 100 film anymore. Heck, they're hardly buying ISO 200.
PaulCoen
Has anyone contacted Agfa to confirm this? I thought I read recently that they were doing a relaunch of the whole line with an updated version of "eye-vision" or whatever it is they call it. (Might've been in "Amateur Photographer". They're still listing the full Vista line on the website.
