stephen_w.
From careful observation of Texas "style", my summary for living in Houston for the past 10-years (off-and-on) is that it offers a high ethnic diversity culinary-wise (compliment), if spread-out like LA. I find it as the most artificially climamitized city in the world. Just driving around, others have their windows closed, with either air-con or heating on, few openning their windows to, at least with recent surveys, to the most polluted, and fatest city, let in "natural air" of the continetnt into their "space". thanz
Stephen W. Your observations about Houston are dead on. Having lived 38 years in the armpit of Texas, Houston, I totally agree. Austin, San Antonio or anywhere in the Hillcountry is closer to the real Texas flavor. BTW, Houston is the most airconditioned city in the world, at 98 degrees and 139% humidity there is a reason.
