Leica V35 Variocontrast Module Information Needed

My Variocontrast Module only has yellow filter glass in it. From

looking at photos of others sold on Ebay, it appears that a magenta

filter should be in it too. This of course is obvious if compared to

filters supplied by Kodak and Ilford. But how are the filters

positioned in the track, one filter behind the other (adjusted by a

knob for contrast 1-4 or thereabout)?

I would appreciate someone who has the module looking at the filters

and describing how it looks and fuctions as the contrast is adjusted

upwards.

Thanks for your time!

While the Leica Variocontrast module is very good, I highly recommend the Heiland

Splitgrade as a replacement. Information may be found <a href="http://

www.heilandelectronic.de/html/english/products/splitgrade_main.htm">here.</a> It just

drops right in without any modification to the V35. You will get much more precise

and repeatable contrast control as well as very good exposure metering. I have been using

one for over two years now and would not part with it.

Thanks for the responses. I will order the dichro lens (around $150...ouch!). Mine must have broken in half, as only yellow remains.

Also, I appreciate the information regarding the Heiland Splitgrade. it sounds fantastic but out of my budget for the time being. I will consider it in the future.
