Cheap Modifiers and other tricks

How about sharing some of the things that can be used for modifiers

and such that work well as a substitue for expensive accessories.( My

lights are breaking my budget and I don't have the cash for

accessories. I'm getting 2 AB brolly boxes with my lights and thats

it)

I know some of this stuff has been covered before, but I think it

might be nice to get alot of it in one thread for others to find

later.

Personally I'd like to know how one can get the same effect as grids

placed over the light.

thanks

Someone once said that you can get honeycomb grid material from an HVAC vendor. They use them to restrict air flow or something. Just an idea.

You know the cardboard inserts they put in boxes to separate glasses? Those sorta form a grid when you attach them to the front of a light. Be careful of overheating them if they're cardboard.

Look for the cheapest grids possible on eBay and use wire to attach them to the front of your reflector (Norman's are usually pretty cheap).

Creating a Light Tent

Take two garment racks on either side of a table. Drape white rip stop nylon across the racks and across the back to create a light tent.

Garment racks are great for creating scrims too (black fabric to block, white to diffuse).<div>00B61g-21807084.jpg.915937b64d022e4b9031fc73306c7a44.jpg</div>
