rescue902
Anyone have any experience with either of these? Noritsu 3001 photo printer, 4000 dpi Nikon film scanner. What type of quality print can I get from a slide? Thanks
eric friedemann
The 3001 prints with a laser and delivers 320 d.p.i. quality, about the same as Fuji Frontier machines. The 3001 prints on regular C (color negative) paper and will give you superior tonality as compared to an optical machine printing on Type R paper (if you could still find a lab with an optical Type R line running). Also, the 3001 has Digital ICE, so it is able to remove dust and scratches from most slide films. We have one of the bigger, higher-volume Noritsu laser printers at my store and I like it fine for 4x6 or 5x7 inch prints. For larger prints, our Noritsu 2901 machine is somewhat superior. It prints with teeny tiny LEDs and produces 400 d.p.i. quality.
gee_willikers
Are you asking about the quality from the slide carrier on the Nortisu versus the Nikon? The only way to really tell is to scan something in and get two glossy enlargements. One from the Nikon through the Nortisu and another using the slide carrier on the Nortisu.
