stephen_w.
It is not a rare lens unless the adaptors 16464 and 16472 are considered rare. Quoting (sp?) Lager Vol. 2 (lenses): "...lens head 11951...on the Visoflex II, IIA and III via mount 16464 and tube 16472, on the Bellows II via tube 16472 for focusing from infinity to 22 inches and onLeitz Canada "Focorapid" device when quick focusing was required." If one didn't have all these doo-dads the lens would be useless. Buyer beware.
capocheny
Torben, "A rare museum quality Leitz tele lens with Leitz finder." From my reading of his listing... he's not saying that the lens is rare. Rather, he's saying that the rarity arises from the museum quality... In other words, it's rare to find a museum quality example of this lens. Cheers
mike_elek
H.C. -- good assessment of the seller's contention. This would go under the heading "unverifiable claim."
stephen_w.
With the original focus mount it would be worth about $100 US. I know; I bought one and sold it.
dan flanders
Knowledgeable Leicaphiles will not be taken in by this whether it is a scam or case of inexcuseable ignorance. Newbies however should be advised that this is not a lens per se but a Frankenstein assembed from accessories and spare parts, none particularly rare, and to no logical purpose. So don't get sucked in!
