stb
It looks like the support dept. in LaserSoft has gone totally silentfor about a month. Seldom answers on their forums, no follow-up onincident reports after the automatically generated response email. Anyone had the same experience ? I use a Microtek Artixscan 120tf. Is it just that they answer bypriorities depending on how popular a scanner is ?
daniel_staver1
Yes, I've noticed that our two post are the last ones in the Microtek forum. No response to several questions about the lack of 35mm support with the glass holder. I also sent a bug report on that, and was asked to supply some files. But I haven't heard from them after that. stb
Hi Daniel, do you also have the soft banding issue ?
daniel_staver1
What's the soft banding issue? I haven't really noticed any other persistent problems with the scanner.

daniel_staver1
Ah yes, that happens all the time. The solutions is simple. You need to scan BW film as RGB and extract one of the channels from the scan in photoshop. Usually the green channel looks best. I believe this happens because there is a slight misalignment between the three channels. Silverfast tries to create a grayscale by averaging all three channels which makes the misalignment very visible.
john_murphy1
From conversations with the Silverfast people in the USA I gather they were impacted by the hurricanes that struck Florida a few months ago.
stb
I can understand those hurricanes were very strong, but to impact a company located in Germany, that's a bit much, no ?
chris_lauritzen2
I have been working with support to help resolve an issue with my Minolta Multi Pro. I was told that they are about to roll out a major version release and this is the reason support has been slow.
