adzy
I recently bought a Epson 2200 with a Lyson PhotoChrome (also known as cave Paint) CIS system. I was wondering if any of you have had experience with these ink and especially with Epson paper. The gentleman I bought it from is in the midst of a move, so it will be a while before he has the time to answer my questions. I have mailed Lyson and havent received a reply yet, but real life experience would be better to judge things by. Have you tried printing on Epson paper with this ink ? If so, which profile did you use- Lyson's site does not ahve any profiles for Epson's paper- did you use Epson's profile itself ? I am looking to print on Heavyweight and Premium Glossy Photo Paper. Alternatively, what paper would you suggest for landscape and portraits ? Thank you. Azi
ecre8
I have used the Cave paint system for a couple of years and did lots of research. It works well overall,See www.dtgweb.com for more ink and some profiles. and there is a yahoo group that is: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/epson2200/ Good luck with that! oistein
I am going to try out Innova Fibaprint gloss in a couple of days. This new paper has got rave reviews and I really look forward to trying it out. Will come back with a comment later. Apart from that, make sure that you are using a paper which is made for pigment ink! I've been printing a lot on Legion Digital Rag and Lyson Smooth Fine Art, both of which are good 100% cotton rags. The latter is indeed very nice, extremely smooth to the touch. However, you should try out famous papers like Hahnemuhle Photo Rag etc. Cheers, Oistein
