dennis lee
The rubber surfaces on my D2H are all slowly peeling away. I know a buddy of mine in CA was having this problem too. Anybody else out there? Any suggestions on how to get it back on? The rubber actually seems to be stretching, because when I push it back in with my fingers it doesn't really want to fit. I may want to upgrade in the future and a camera without it's rubber... well, I think you get the idea.
Ed_Ingold
The rubber skin wears out with use. It is held in place with a special double-sticky tape. You could use Pliobond (if you're a little looney), live with the problem, or send it back to Nikon to be re-clad.
leslie_cheung
Seems like a common problem with the d2/1 series.
briany
The good news, of course, is that you may accidentally wind up with a new (next generation) camera, saving you the cost of an upgrade. One of your cameras will probably take leave from work for a while though.
markus_maien
My Nikon D1H does the same thing. From what I hear that is a common problem with Nikon cameras. I just learned to live with it, but if you can think of a solution, please share :o)
