emmett_s
I sany one else having this issue? Where do I begin to resolve it? Canon Tokina or do I give up and send the lens back?
bobatkins
Call Tokina. If Canon lenses work fine, it's a Tokina lens problem. You might check the lens contacts are clean (rub them with a pencil eraser)
leopoldstotch
Its tokina's responsibility. Err 99 means an incompatible lens, but errors like this are covered in the warranty and fixable by tokina
chrisjb
Hi, err99 seams to cover a lot of errors, I`ve had more with canon lenses than sigma or tokina, 1st thing is to clean contacts as stated, this thread says how to. http://www.richardsnotes.org/archives/2005/04/29/50mm-lens-contact-points/ have fun
emmett_s
Thanks I'll try 'erasing' the camera contacts and the lens contacts. The odd part is, it is only this lens and only on this body....all other lenses on this body are AOK. This Body with all other lenses is AOK. Hmm... kin_lau
Some older Tokina lenses did have that problem, and that's the model most often mentioned. Given how old that lense is, there may be nothing you can do about it.
