h._wu
I have a Canon Elan IIe. But I cannot make the kit lens, EF 28-80mmf/3.5-5.6 working with depth of field preview (DOFP), either by eyecontrol or using AE/CF/DOFP button when custom function (CF) 04 set to2. In both cases, my EF 50mm f/1.8 works fine. My understaning is thatDOFP is purely a function of the camera body, not that of lenses. Sowhat went wrong? Please give me some advice. Thank you. mormegil
DoF works by closing down the aperture down to whatever you have set. If you are already set to the largest aperture, or something close to it, you probably won't notice the change. Try setting Ap to f/8 or f/16, then try DoF preview button. h._wu
Thank you both for answering my stupid question. I didn't notice I was using f/5.6 at 80mm when I tested it. After changing to f/11, I can see the DOFP operation now. Thanks again.
