john carter
My Pentax DSLR seems to be really ISO 50 when set at 200. This doesn't bother me. I'm just wondering it any one has used their DSLR as a preview for film, and what is their ISO experience?
vuk_vuksanovic
john. what you're implying is that the sensor, when set to ISO 200, is behaving like 50. well, i use an incident light metre for both film and my pentax DSRL and can assure you i would have noticed a two stop discrepancy. perhaps there's something wrong with your camera (or the way in which you are conducting your tests). ben_rubinstein___mancheste1664880652
Whether it is that far off or not, I would never suggest using a DSLR as a meter for film unless you take great pains to calibrate the two. The iso values in digital cameras are what the manufacturers say they are, they will not agree with films that rarely agree with each other anyway! Jochen_S
My *istD seems to overexpose a bit compared to the handheld readings I take for my filmcameras. OTOH my negs are on the thin and grainy side. Whatever you do: calibrate it well.
