Here are some real world camera weights. All cameras have a 1"

nylon strap and batteries as indicated. A 36 exposure roll weighs

about 23g.

FE2 = 586g *(w/ two S-76 silver oxide batteries)
FM2n = 571g *(w/ DL-1/3N Lithium battery)
N80 = 566g *(w/ two CR123A Lithium batteries)

Complaint about weight of cameras such as these indicates

laziness and lack of motivation. If these cameras are too heavy I

suggest giving up photography. If a person just want snaps an

Olympus Styles Epic weighs just 0.29 lb. per B&H Photo. Thats

about 132g, 150g with film. The cameras 35/2.8 lens is

reputed to be very good to excellent.
The Cosina Nikon FM-10 weights about 417g without batteries per

the Nikon USA website (this is a conversion from ounces). I guess

thats about 420g with batteries, maybe another 30g for a

camera strap or perhaps 450g ready to use. The camera with a zoom

lens costs $219.95 (USD). What does one expect for that price in

2004? At worst the FE2 weighs about as much again as the weight

of a Canon Elph Jr.
In another thread I was accused of "Measurebating" a

lewd reference still not edited from the thread.
The reason I make these measurements is to counter all the

misinformation posted on the internet. Few people let objectivity

stand in the way of personal preference and prejudice.
