Giotto's MT series tripods?

Does anybody have any experience with the Giotto MT series tripods,

which they can offer some insights into? I was looking for an

aluminum tripod, and came across an adverisement for their tripods,

showing their versatility. They look pretty flexible (as far as

adapting to many needs) but I haven't a clue as to their

construction and quality over the long haul. But based solely on

design, does it compare favorably with the Gitzo G2220 Explorer

series?

Thanks in advance,

Colin

I purchased a MT9180 (aluminum version) a few months ago. Ive always had el cheapo tripods in the past and wanted to get something decent without breaking the bank. Not having used a Gitzo G2220 I cannot give you a direct comparison. The Gittos gives you a lot of features for the money - built in 3 way head, multi-position center column, arm pads, shoulder strap, carrying bag and goes fairly low to the ground. The Giottos website does a good job of showing you the various features. I don't have a heavy camera/lens combo but I have used it with a Meade telescope. You will have a hard time finding a a better tripod for the money.
