colin_lee3
Does anybody have any experience with the Giotto MT series tripods, which they can offer some insights into? I was looking for an aluminum tripod, and came across an adverisement for their tripods, showing their versatility. They look pretty flexible (as far as adapting to many needs) but I haven't a clue as to their construction and quality over the long haul. But based solely on design, does it compare favorably with the Gitzo G2220 Explorer series? Thanks in advance, Colin
kalhoun
I purchased a MT9180 (aluminum version) a few months ago. Ive always had el cheapo tripods in the past and wanted to get something decent without breaking the bank. Not having used a Gitzo G2220 I cannot give you a direct comparison. The Gittos gives you a lot of features for the money - built in 3 way head, multi-position center column, arm pads, shoulder strap, carrying bag and goes fairly low to the ground. The Giottos website does a good job of showing you the various features. I don't have a heavy camera/lens combo but I have used it with a Meade telescope. You will have a hard time finding a a better tripod for the money.
colin_lee3
Thanks Lee! I'll give it a shot. It certainly isn't an overly large investment to try. Colin
