rahul_deshpande1
Hi All, I have some kind of wierd problem with my OM-10 meter...the LEDs work fine until I try to crank the film advance lever. As soon as I do that, the LEDs simply turn off. So that means I cannot meter after I have advanced the film. Needless to say, I've put in fresh CR44 batteries.I've had this camera for years without any problems. Any thoughts and inputs that would be of help?? Thanks, Rahul

george_shihanian
Still sounds like weak batteries are a possibility. Be careful where you buy batteries. Even newly purchased ones can be weak. They test fine for a short while, then drop off. It's happened to me.
rahul_deshpande1
More complications... I put in fresh silver oxide SR44 batteries. I was out hiking in the smokies for some fall color shooting. I kept checking the batteries for the squealing sound before cocking the shutter. It squealed just fine till I cranked the film advance. As before, the meter LEDs turned themselves off and the shutter speed just started to default to 1/60 for any aperture, even on manual adapter speed set at 1/250. Any thoughts or pearls of wisdom? joe_photo
I've got a couple of OM-10s and find that the LEDs go out if you don't shoot right away. I have to turn the camera off and then back on. I thought it was just some battery saving feature.
rahul_deshpande1
The instruction manual says the battery saving should cut the LED in 90 seconds.
tom_miles
The meter turns off after 90 seconds, and the manual says to press the metal ring that surrounds the shutter release button, known as the "activator". This works fine on my OM -10.
