rescue902
Can anyone recommend a good slide viewer in the 20-40 dollar range? I'm on a budget and just started experimenting with color slide film. Thanks
andrew_pike1
If you look on eBay, you can have an old Argus slide projector (I reccomend the 300-watt model) for $20-$30. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. You'll need a screen, though, unless you have a white wall somewhere in your house. Gives nice, big, and sharp images at a bargain price, and it is less likely to break than more recent models because of its simple manual design (it has a wheel that you put the slides in and rotate them into place. You can also get 36-slide cartriges on eBay for it for use with the automatic slide changer that at one time came as an accesory.) I highly reccomend it. If you insist on just a viewer, though, a Pana-Vue model can be picked up at you local photo specialty shop. I have one of those too, and I hate it, but it will fit into your price range. ravi_swamy
I would suggest a cheap light box for $20-30 and loupe or magnifier of some kind. Or get a used slide projector.
randall_pukalo
Go to Adorama or BH Photo online and get a Hakuba 5x7 (lit area) light box - small, battery and ac powered, and good price. Plus, you can get an 8x basic loupe for an extra $10 or so.
