ajpn
The generics work fine. I have two original BP-511s and two generic cheapos off eBay. The generics actually seem to last longer than the OEMs. Seems to be the general response on the other threads that this is the case.
jimstrutz
Let me hijack Michael's question here and ask if anyone has ever had any trouble with third party BP-511 batteries other than the occasional one going dead? How about it, any exploding batteries? Any battery leaks? Any camera damage at all? The *only* trouble I've heard about is a few people with a generic battery that quit forever. Anybody hear anything else? I've got two, that work great, BTW.
digitmstr
*E X C E L L E N T* I have been using two of those for my 10D+'BigEd' and I haven't touched the original Canon batteries for a year. The BEST purchase you can make in terms of quality VS cost.
danieltshin
I've bought a BP-511 from Sterlingtek, about 1 year ago now. The performance is really poor now... It's a 1300mAh battery (there are newer 1800 mAh on sale at SterlingTek, however). The label has "Japan Ultra Power" With my battery, I can barely get 50 shots before it goes dead. Another friend who referred me to them seems to have little problem with his batteries. I'll try the Maha/PowerEx or Lenmar batteries next.
