doug_lee__cinnaminson__nj
Has anyone succesfully gotten Windows XP to recognize the Canon GL2? The camera did not come with drivers, except for seting up photostitch and zoombrowser or browserEX (don't recall exact name.) Canon site is no help. Driver downloaded does not include any driver files that I can see and XP hardware setup can't see any either. Perhaps I just don't understand. I am very new to video editing and just want to get XP to recognize the camera so I can capture video from its tape to Adobe Premier. Any info would be appreciated. adrian douglas
Since the camera it's self doesn't come with any drivers then I would check that your firewire card is installed/working correctly. Other that that set Premiere to CANON DV CAMERA in the device settings and you should be apples. I've had my XL1 working with XP without any problems
doug_lee__cinnaminson__nj
Adrian, Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try. The firewire connection appears to be fine. It shows up in device manager as working properly and XP is able to determine what camera is attached to the PC via the firewire connection. I'll check the settings in Adobe and let you know. doug_lee__cinnaminson__nj
Talked to Canon support. Problem is with my PC. It does not know what it has attached to it. The GL2 shows up in device manager as Other Device. I need to contact my hardware vendor on Monday.
