marco_casale
I would like to know what do you think if i will sell my digital Nikon D1x to pass not to the D2X but to the new Hasselblad H1d.I take reportages pics and in studio.thanks
edward_h
I figure you'll be having a pretty hard time taking proper photojournalism (reportage, en francais) pics with the Hasselblad. Bulky, iso400,EXPENSIVE zooms, 0.5 fps? Please. Stick with the d2x (whenever Nikon decides to start selling it)...
ellis_vener_photography
The Hasselblad h1d is hardly bulky or heavy. The size of an h1 with an Imacon (now Hasselblad 132C back is about the same as a D2H /D2X/D1X -- a bit less than a Canon EOS 1Ds. And the autofocus on the h1 is both very fast and very accurate. My question is whether you'll need 22mp for reportage work and whether the lower FPS rate will be a disadvantage for that kind of work. The D2X is goingto be better suited for workign in inclement weather and with the Nikon system you'll have a much wider selection of lenses to choose from. Before anyone (including me) can give you a more complete answer I think we'll need to know more about what you mean by 'reportage" (magazine features/set up portraits or hard news/photojournalism?) and what kind of studio work you do. lkv
I agree 100 % with Ellis.
The H1D is a very good camera. You just have to precise your needs to know if it is suited for your work.
Lenny
AFimage - Photographe
k_michael
That's two different worlds between an H1 and a D2.
JosvanEekelen
I handled the H1d on the last Photokina, it looks bulky and heavy but it handles remarkably well, a very well balanced camera. If only the price would come down.
franka t.l.
The H1 is not heavy, but certainly quite bulky ( physical size ). If the burst rate is not an issue, then it certainly made a good investment considering that you will do Studio also. Its about the only AF Digital Medium format with leaf shutter ( unless you count Rollei 6008 AF with an equally massive digital back )
