godfrey
I don't know about the RB67 screen, but the Maxwell Bright Matte Grid screen was better than the Hasselblad Acute Matte for me. Well worth the money. It isn't just brighter, it's an easier surface to focus with. Godfrey
mskovacs
I don't have first-hand experience with both screens in an RB67, but I do know an older pro photographer that swears by the Maxwell screens in his RB67 Professional S. The Maxwell in my Rollei looked brighter than the RB67 I played with in a store, but the lens aperture was slower on the RB67 than the f/2.8 viewing lens on my Roleiflex TLR. robert_clark
I tried a cut down RB67 screen first, then later got a Maxwell. The Maxwell is a lot brighter, but I'm not perfectly happy with the bite. It doesn't snap into focus as accurately as my SLR screens, and there seems to be a little too much leeway as to what it accepts as sharp. I'm just careful when I focus. always_wanderlust
Hah! For under a little more than the price of the Maxwell screen, you could buy an RZ67 to replace the RB and the RZ's screen is much brighter than the RB (I had both at one point but couldn't stand the darker screen on the RB so I traded it for an RZ Back).
