unclebuddha
I suffered a small crack in the baseplate of my 6MF due to a fall. I have shot some film with the camera since then and everything is fine but I am bugged by the crack. Does anyone have a Mamiya 6 they are using for parts that I can buy a baseplate from? Any other sources you can think of? TIA.
eric friedemann
I bought a Mamiya 6 baseplate directly from Mamiya America's service or parts department about a year ago for, I think, about $35. MAC still has some Mamiya 6 parts in stock. The baseplate is not difficult to replace yourself if you have the correct size small screwdriver for the exterior screws. God knows I'm no repair technician, and I replaced a baseplate on a 6MF in about 15 minutes. The only trick is that you have to carefully, delicately remove the teeny, tiny serial number plate from your broken baseplate. The you have to superglue it into the new baseplate. eric friedemann
BTW, Mamiya's phone number in New York is (914) 347-3300 and they take credit cards over the phone.
