Sycamoe
OK, I've searched...not for hours but I have searched several forums and I cannot get a solution: Epson 825 printer, Epson 4 x 6 (not perforated) premium glossy paper. Latest driver off the Epson site, premium glossy paper selected, 4 X 6 selected, select borderless in their control panel printing out of Photoshop--Starts to print and the paper doesn't advance. Try sizing it exactly 4 x 6, then don't select borderless in the control panel--no luck. Try "fit to media" in PS setup--makes thin borders no matter how the Epson panel is set up...OK so I guess I-let me see ...Epson SAYS you can print borderless with their newer printers and this paper. Obviously it would have to to compete--people want true borderless What the [fill in the blank]? Why is it so difficult to get the settings? So far in a couple years of use the only time I've gotten borderless 4 x 6 out of either of the two Epsons I have used was to use the crappy 4 x 6 perforated. What gives? Sycamoe
...AND: My friend has an 820 with his Apple MAC and has NO PROBLEMS printing borderless with any regular 4 x 6 paper. (Windows sucks?)
rich815
forget borderless. it spills ink into the printer and is a pain. Just print and trim---borderless done, any size you want!
Sycamoe
Well, yes but that means I can't just purchase 4 x 6 paper for making 4 x 6's? There's got to be a way and it hasn't harmed my friend's printer. Anyone else have this problem? I'm doing something wrong in the settings. tgehring
I am having the exact same problem. I'm using OS X and the latest printer drivers, then printing from Photoshop CS.
tgehring
I did end up getting this to work in the end. Upon downloading the latest drivers from Espon for OS X, I needed to add specific profiles (which appear as separate printer drivers) for different paper/load types, such as "borderless sheet feed", "borderless roll", etc. When I added these specific profiles to the printer drivers and selected the appropriate media type, "4x6 borderless no perforation" along with the appropriate printer driver profile (borderless sheet feed), it worked fine. The only dissapointment was that for the borderless printing option, the max resolution on the Epson 1280 seems to be 1440 vs the 2880 which is possible when printing on the same paper type WITH borders. The specific instructions for this proceedure are in the .pdf booklet included with the driver download: "OS X booklet.pdf". I do have to say that they could have made this all a bit more straightforward.
