g.sriram
I am planning a trip to East cost in Late sep-early October to photograph fall color for atleast 3-4 day. How should I proceed ? Enroll in workshop or get maps and drive all the way from Washington to Vermont ?Can anyone give me suggestions on specific locations between DC to vermont ? Is this place as good as I have heard it is for fall color? Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks to all,
carl photography
Yes, New England is wonderful then. I'd been in Manchester NH twice on business trips in the first week of October, and visited the White Mountains and nearby areas. There is a mixture of hardwood and softwood trees, so you see bright colors in contrast with dark greens. Very nice! Other locations may be even better, and your timing is perfect. Have fun! john kissane
Go straight to Vermont. It's as good as it gets. Hit the Vermont web site and it will give you a lot to do. Good luck.

HuskyMason1
Don't miss Mt. Washington in New Hampshire...highest recorded wind speeds on earth...the buildings are chained down...there is a train that goes to the summit and the foliage in the white mountains is great. ntiberius
If you're driving through NH up 93 North, take the scenic Kancamagus highway, which winds through the White Mountains. Mt. Washington is fabulous, but expect a fairly populated summit. Cannon Mountain was a huge attraction before the Old Man crumbled >:)
