chepas_nigs
Dear All, Has anyone tried using Rubinar 10/1000 Telephoto lens for Nikon dSLRs? Chelo
andrew robertson
I'm sure they have. The Nikon forum is probably a better place to ask about this, if you're looking specifically for folks who have used it on Nikon DSLRs.
douglas_greenberg
Does the lens mount directly, without complications, on the Nikon body? I seem to recall that these lenses actually are made with an M42 screw mount and you need an adapter to use them for Nikon. I believe the adapter includes an optical element that invariably will degrade image quality a bit. If so, then this is not really a good setup. chepas_nigs
The website said it is for Nikon, but you may be right since they are also selling an adapter for the Nikon. I am not sure if it has that old screw mount. If it does, they have the appropriate adapters for Minolta and Canon also. I am planning it for both nature (just can't get close enough) and astrophotos. I am considering the lens since it is quite inexpensive. I also had used the Zenit-Helios lenses in a Zenit film SLR before and they performed well in dusty and rainy conditions (I am a geologist also). Just concerned with the images. Thanks for the replies.
