paul_sauer
Hi, The plastic tab on my 20mm AF lens aperture ring that holds down the lever on my D100 body that lets the camera meter broke off. Is there anyone you recommend to replace this? Is there a way I can just order an aperture ring -- f2.8-f22 and replace it myself? Is there a jerryrigged solution anyone's tried that works? Thanks. fourfa
same happened to me, on a lens I bought from KEH. KEH took it back and replaced it (free), but in the meantime I cut a piece of matchstick and jammed the switch lever open. just make sure the aperture ring doesn't go off f22. brushmeister
I had that problem on my 35-70mm 2.8D. When I called up Nikon parts in Torrence, CA they said did not have that aperture indexing ring, and I could not find a repair shop that had one. In desperation, I got out my dremel tool and exacto knife and carefully carved out a notch in the ring that matched the beginning of the indexing flange. Then epoxied a tiny plastic tab, which I made, into the notch. Not pretty, but it worked like a charm.<div></div>
paul_sauer
I think I'll try a homemade solution with a dremel tool since I only paid $200 for the lens used.
