How do I do this in PS (samples attached)

Recommended Posts

Well, again thank you everyone.

William, I did see your posts and wrote down the reference. If I have the opportunity, I will look into the book.

I was hoping there would be an easy method for duplicating this visual affect. I get the sense there is not. At any rate, I will look around and see what I can find. I will also experiment as I always do.

Again, everyone, thanks for the help. I do really appreciate it.

Well, I popped down to a bookstore for some business and while waiting took a look at Evening's book. He presented one curve transform for C41 -> E6 and one for E6 -> C41, ie. the same method we've been debating here from the start. His samples were good, but don't cover all cases. Beau's link provides curve files for PS implementing the same idea and I have seen other freely distributed curve files on the net (try google) doing the same thing. Since the curves of all channels can be varied, there are many possible effects. Now, the discussion is finished for my part.

Thank you, Hunter and try Beau's link and Google if you want to try this on your own photos easily.
