carlos_borges
Hello to you all. I'm looking for focal distance converters to the Rolleicord Vb. I think Yashica made them in bay I size. I'm not sure. If they exist, how do they perform on the Xenar (or on the tessar's)? Any price reference?? Thank you all in advance for your answers. h._p.
I used both the wide and tele Yashica versions a long time ago when they were new and they are very poor value indeed. They really are so bad you can see the image degradation clearly on a 8x10 print. Low as my standards are, those things didn't even come up to them :-))) You might use the wide angle converter if you really couldn't move back any further but the tele converter gave a poorer result than cropping the neg. This is one accessory that I'd pass on.
jorn ake
I used both the Tele and the Wide on my 124. The center was usually pretty sharp, but the edges (meaning everything except the center) were variable to out of focus. However, I liked the effect as this gave me an atmospheric look that I could play with if I wanted. Sort of the plastic camera lens thing without the light leaks. Below see an example with the Tele attachment.<div></div>
jorn ake
Actually, that might have been the wide. I am pretty sure this one used the tele.<div></div>
dean_williams
These converters are a good way to make your Xenar look like a cheap, plastic lensed fixed focus camera. Actually, they may not even be that good. They really do make a mess of things, and I mean that in the kindest way!
