gavin_w
Hi there folks - Can anyone tell me what might be going on when all shutterspeeeds on an OM-2SP appear to be working right, but when you fire the shutter on 'bulb' the shutter opens and closes even though you are holding down the shutter release? Tmeter seems to be working ok. I don't have the camera so I can't provide any more info! Thanks, Gavin.
ecarter
It is interesting, I do have an OM-2s, but I'm not so sure about the answer here. The OM-2s does have a mechanical 1/60th speed shutter, but I don't know if the bulb setting is also mechanical or if it is electronic controlled. If it is electronic, weak batteries may be causing this problem - changing the batteries may help out. Worth a try, batteries are cheap. :-)
mr._b
I had this problem with my OM-PC. Perhaps the camera is set to 'auto' or 'program.' The battery may also be the cause.
frank_oddsocks
Bulb is mechanical on the OM-2SP, and works without batteries. Sounds like a backyarder has been poking around inside and put it back together wrongly - unfortunately, all too common with secondhand cameras. stephen_streit
I have the same problem with mine but I find if the shutter is depressed as hard as you can its fine. On mine if you let up even a slight amount it shuts.
